    Not necessarily , some Linux’s would whip Windows in that area. But, as I said Linux ain’t for everyone.

    for gaming windows is best

    Windows = Buggy OS, that most beginners can afford, do to the Oems.
    Mac (Unix)= Lacks detail, but, some beginners won’t mind it. Unless you need Windows or Wine.
    Linux/Unix = The worlds most secure and stable line of OS’s, but not for everyone. Wine to run Windows stuff.
    ReactOS = Hopes to crush Windows and maybe Linux, good luck.
    Haiku OS = We admit it, were another Linux.

    I believe that, when it comes to computers (software and hardware), there isn’t THE TRULY ONE OPTION. All depends on what you have (money), what you know how to use (skills), what you like (preferences), and, specially, what you NEED to do. For me:

    Windows = The old school workstation :)
    Mac = The fancy tool, more focus into multimedia desing B-)
    Linux = Engineer’s Wonderland :P lol

    Just my opinion

    You got a point. The truth it’s that Apple, and Microsoft as well, have focus a lot of their atention into that, and sometimes even more that into the final product, but… Well… Don’t forget that we’re talking about business. That’s the reality.

    On the other hand. Well, I’m also a Linux user. When it comes to development or networks, I love it!.. Specially, Red Hat distributions (I’m not a Debian guy as you). But when it comes to final user… Damn… Not the best idea :S

  22. CrewRite says:

    @EmilianoDuque

    Well if Apple felt that way, they wouldn’t have sued and won the final Psystar case.

    You don’t see Microsoft saying, HEY!, you can only install Windows on HP, cause HP is our friends.

    Don’t know about Snow Leopard, but, tried Leopard out (and own it) and it lacks detailed features, which Windows has had for years.

    I’d rather go to Linux Mint, than deal with a UnFinished OS.

  23. EmilianoDuque says:

    @CrewRite
    Actually, you’re wrong. Steve Jobs has said that Apple consider it self as a Software Company. Since the launch of Mac’s with Intel technology, they desing software not just for a particullary hardware. Of course, OS X works better on a Mac architecture but that it’s only because that it’s the hardware that they can control.

    There’s no SO that works GREAT on ANY kind of hardware, they all have their pros and cons. But, as a computer engineer, I can tell you OS X is good :)

    @NDSCollector Who have money to a mac?

  25. NDSCollector says:

    just install some linux distro and use mac os at home on your imac.

Got something to say? Go for it!
