My criPod shuffle’s base station thing broke. I dropped 20 bucks to order a new one from Apple, but for some reason it didn’t work with my unit (looks like my unit is too old even though I bought it just a few months ago). I got close to buying a whole new shuffle, but decided to go with the clip+ instead. I have little but distaste for Apple, but having said that, I feel like a side by side comparison between these units isn’t exactly fair. Obviously the shuffle is going for something diff.
sansa clip´s not diverting from the music itself – not only the device itself but the way mp3´s, album´s and playlists can be uploaded. No proprietary software and no proprietary connection. If they now increase the width a little bit to make the battery unproprietary (since on long trips or in Siberia…), too it´s the perfect device. Not possible to top this.

I feel like most of iPod’s products are little gimmicks–they come up with one product, make it look all flashy, and then make another the next year so you keep buying and buying and buying to stay updated… :/
