The mac mini is awesome with recording, editing, and playing music. Even the old ones with ppc are good for sound so if you want to get a cheaper computer you could buy a g4 mac mini but if you will be editing movies i would get a newer one with an intel chip and a better GPU.

A Mac Mini G4 PPC is not from 2008, the PPC platform disappeared in 2005
i use my computer souly to record edit and play music, how does the mini mac do for that type of stuff

it does great. Garage band for edit music and it’s free with every mac
